I am going to participate in the Patriots Pen contest because I am going on the Washington D.C trip. This will help me get inspired with ideas of what to write about so the contest will be much easier and more fun to write about. (Dylan Machalek)

ReplyDeleteI am going to participate in the Optimist Club Essay Contest. The main reason why I chose this contest is because the theme,"How Can I Help My Friends Realize Their Value?", sounds like a very interesting topic to me. Friendship plays a huge role in my life and I care a lot about each and every one of my friends. I would really enjoy writing about my friends and helping them realize their value and what they mean to me. History doesn't particularly interest me so I decided not to take part in the Patriot's Pen. Last year I thought participating in the Poetry Slam was kind of boring so I cancelled that contest out as well. I figured the Optimist Club would be my best choice.
ReplyDeleteI am going to enter in the Optimist Club Contest. I think that the theme question is really interesting, because nowadays people don't always realize how important they are to others. This also just seemed like an all around good topic because the other ones didn't really interest me that much.
ReplyDeleteI am going to enter Philosophy Slam because last year I thought it was fun and easy, but not to easy, to write. I also like going deeper in my writing sometimes, and Philosophy Slam challenges you to do that. Although I'm not sure what the question for the essay is, I'm sure I'll enjoy writing my essay anyway.

ReplyDeleteI am going to enter the Philosophy Slam because I am excited to see the topic, and to research and explore the topic like I did last year. I have always enjoyed the Philosophy Slam and I can't wait to do it again this year!

ReplyDeleteI am going to participate in the philosophy slam because last year in 7th grade when we did it, It really helped me become a better writer. This is also when I noticed that I actually enjoyed writing. My goal in life is to actually write a book and have it published.

I'm going to enter the Philosophy Slam. I enjoyed doing it last year. I like thinking deep and truly finding out what I think about something. I thought that it was fun and enjoyable last year. I think that persuading is also fun. It helped me to become a better writer.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to enter the Philosophy Slam. After doing this for two years already I think I have a pretty good and clear idea of how I should go about doing this. I like debating and sharing my opinion, but also hearing others so I enjoy the Philosophy Slam because you have to really prove your point. Sometimes the questions are hard but I kind of like that the make you think. I may get frustated trying to answer a question but in the long run this will probably help me as a writer.

I am excited to find out what the topic is this year so I can get started on it right away and make it way better than the one I did last year. I hope it is challenging again so I can improve my deep thinking of things.
